My previous experience (and my dealer's expectation) has been that the dealers are the ones to install the bracket, but with this car that hasn't been the case. Most cops aren't going to get fussed up in that kind of situation, they have better stuff to do (pizza and donut runs).Ford hasn't confirmed anything about it so we are left guessing. Then I would tell them I was in a neighboring state that doesn't require a front plate, like Louisiana, and I forgot to put it back on, then I could show him the plate and the attachment. I don't normally have the plate on, I have the plate on the floor in back of the passenger seat in the event I would be pulled over by the po po. If you are going to do some spirited driving just take it off, you only have to pull the spring loaded pin and pull the plate off, it takes 5 seconds. Besides, the plate isn't up against the intercooler so air can flow around the plate. I seriously doubt there is any negative effect on air going to the intercooler in 99% of driving situations, this isn't an F1 race car when tolerances are figured to the nearest square mm. Still plenty of clearance with those concrete curb stops.

The bottom of the plate is 1/2' to 3/4' lower than the bottom edge of the red bodywork so you lose a little clearance but unless you really drive wild it won't cause any problems. I used 3M double sided tape for attaching auto cladding trim before using the screws so it isn't going anywhere. You attach it to the black undertray with four screws provided.
